White Ribbon and J. Walter Thompson

20minutes4change.org is a joint campaign action between White Ribbon and J. Walter Thompson.

In 2016, Stanford swimmer Brock Turner was convicted of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman and received only six months in jail despite facing up to 14 years.

Following Brock’s sentencing, Dan A. Turner referred to Brock’s sexual assault as “20 minutes of action”, a “steep price to pay out of his 20-plus years of life."

In response to this quote, last year on November 25th, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, we turned Brock’s father's words on their head and encouraged all dads to pledge 20 minutes to talk to their sons about sexual consent.

Our goal was to create a movement by building awareness of the issue and drive dads to act. As a result, dads pledged over 100,000 minutes to talk to their sons about consent.

This year we’re going to continue our movement and empower dads by giving them the script they’ll need to begin talking about consent.
